Through the British rule, Nathia Gali, then part of Abbottabad tehsil in Hazara district, served as the summer residence of the Chief Commissioner of the (then) Peshawar Division of Punjab. The town, along with Dunga Gali, formed a designated area under the Punjab Municipalities Act, 1891. The income in 1903–04 was Rs. 3,000 came mainly from house tax while the expenditure was Rs. 1900.

The main tribe of the
Nathia Gali are the Karlal and a minority of the Dhunds (who now call themselves
"Dhunds-Abbasis"). The local people are closely related to people
elsewhere in the diaspora and speak the Hindi language. Until the 1960s, most
of these tribes and tribes lived a fairly simple and primitive life due to lack
of educational and employment opportunities. Most of them had to work and study
in plains and cities like Rawalpindi, Lahore, Peshawar and even Karachi.

relatively short, giving the tourists an unforgettable trip in a reasonable
amount of time.

The city is connected
to Abbottabad and Murree via Nathia Galle Road. Public transport runs daily
from Abbottabad and Rawalpindi to Nathia Galle. You can take the route via
Abbottabad, the shortest route is via Hazara Highway or the route via Peshawar.
However, the main road in Abbottabad remains clogged with heavy traffic and it
takes more than an hour to reach Nathia Gali from the city.
On the other hand, Murree Expressway is a more scenic and
less crowded road. It passes through Murree before continuing on to Nathia Gali
for approximately one hour and twenty minutes. From December to January, the
area may witness heavy snowfall and the road leading to Nathia Gali may
sometimes be blocked due to heavy snowfall.

Nathia Gali also serves by means of the organizational center of the Nathia Gali Association Council. It is situated in the Abbottabad district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. At an altitude of 2,410 meters (7,910 ft), it is a popular tourist spot during the summer months. These are pine, cedar, oak and walnut forests as well as other deciduous trees.
